Precision-engineered 3D-printed water housing built in PA12, offering exceptional impact resistance, environmental durability, and a compact, hydrodynamic form designed for professional water photography and videography.
Designed for the OM-Systems OM-1, this high-performance thermoplastic construction delivers outstanding strength, precision, and lightweight reliability for demanding aquatic environments. The housing carcass undergoes a primer treatment and painting plus varnish coating for aesthetic purposes and enhanced durability.
All controls are machined from marine grade stainless steel, offering excellent resistance to corrosion and long life span.
Controls knobs, zoom gears and lens gear rings are either machined from POM and aluminium or printed in PA 12 thermoplastic.
Side handles are lazer cut from an aluminium alloy and are hard anodized for optimal corrosion prevention.
Backplate is lazer cut from a 8mm thick acrylic sheet.
Lens ports are machined from PVC. All front elements are made from clear high quality acrylic, both flat or dome, guaranteeing high light transmission.All sealing o-ring are made from silicone and epdm.
Customization Process and Options
Phase 1: Basic Water Housing
Includes a water housing with essential controls (shutter);
Basic backplate (no controls);
Action camera attachment (or LED lights) and detachable lens port system.
The port diameter can be customizable, but the standard version supports lenses up to 100mm in diameter.Color: you can choose any single color, free of cost. Matte or glossy finish.
Custom paints works will be charged extra, depending on the complexity of request.
Phase 2: Lens Ports
Dome Ports: Options include fisheye smaller compact domes and larger over/under domes.
Flat Ports: Choices include standard flat ports or a conic design for zoom lenses to prevent vignetting.
Extensions: Opens options for different size lens compatibility
Lens ring control: including zoom/focus gears and sleeves.
Phase 3: Camera Controls & Handles
Additional Controls: Add extra controls functions to water housing carcass or backplate as needed.
Note: some controls might not be possible to add, due to conflict with water housing design or accessibility.
Phase 4: Accessories
Handles: Options for detachable pistol grip (2 stage: focus and shutter release) and left/right side handles for greater versatility/stability while handling equipment.
Phase 5: Additional Features
Vacuum valve electronic system is available, as well moisture sensors.
External batteries mounts or hard drive compatibility plus other cabling (internal and external) is available, always subject to consultation.
A range of other accessories and further customization options are available upon request.
Housings include a limited 1-year warranty (housing only) and are suitable for surf and diving up to 33 feet = 10 meters
Maintenance is recommended annually or every 100 uses and can be performed at our headquarters.
Typical build, testing, and delivery time is 2-12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the order.
